Nitram lives with his mother and father in a suburban Australian town in the 1990s. He lives a life of isolation and frustration at never being able to fit in—that is, until he unexpectedly finds a close friend in a reclusive heiress, Helen. When that relationship meets a tragic end, and Nitram′s loneliness and anger grow, he begins a slow descent that leads to disaster. Nitram is a psychological drama directed by Australian director Justin Kurzel based on an actual event that took place in Tasmania, Australia in 1996. Nitram premiered in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Caleb Landry Jones, who plays Nitram, won the Best Actor award for his superb
performance.

Justin KURZEL
Justin Kurzel′s first feature film, Snowtown (2011), premiered at Adelaide Film Festival in 2011, eventually winning the Audience Award. The film screened at numerous international film festivals including the 2011 Toronto Film Festival and was presented during the International Critics′ Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2012. His adaptation of Macbeth premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2015. His other works include Assassin′s Creed (2016) and True History of the Kelly Gang (2019).
