Sybille still lives at home with her parents, remains a virgin, and is so painfully modest that she takes off her bra under her nightgown even in private. She has a boring job in a bank. She reads romance novels on her endless commute. When Sybille meets good-looking young Victor, her cheap novels seem to have come to life. Soon he′s moved in with her family. Victor pretends to go to work every day, but we know that he spends his days wandering the malls. His demands on Sybille and her parents soon escalate. Meanwhile, effervescent Mom is delighted not only with her daughter′s apparent happiness, but also with Victor′s genial company. She finds herself making elaborate dinners al fresco and considering redecorating her hairdressing salon. Taciturn, doting Dad is also entranced with the young man, and even gets sucked into investing in a spurious financial deal. We fear for Sybille′s future. But Sybille is stronger than we think.
