Program Note
Mrs. Nielsen and her autistic son Brian live in absolute seclusion. Despite this, Mrs. Nielsen tries to give the impression that their life is quite normal. It is only Brian who is occasionally a little more agitated. One day he returns home after midnight. The next day a girl′s body is found near the Nielsen′s home. Without asking her son anything, Mrs. Nielsen immediately tries to get rid of anything that might cast the slightest suspicion on her Brian. As usual, she tries to make it seem that everything at home is just the same as any other ordinary household. The police detective Jespersen suspects Brian from the start and is determined to return again and again to ask the boy the same questions. How far is she prepared to go to protect her son who is helpless in so many ways? Does she have it within herself to give up the only person she loves?
