Program Note
Pang Ho-cheung’s wild mysterious drama. Police officer Jim investigates Kwan, a man brought in for filming video at a women’s washroom. However, Kwan states that there is a secret women’s society out to eradicate men and he was just trying to get evidence of it. Later, Kwan disappears after being released and Jim senses something is not right, especially when some men turn up murdered. While on the search for Kwan, Jim meets Kwan’s former wife Pun and gets close to her. Meanwhile, Jim’s wife Cheung, who was once a member of the secret society, is under pressure to return to the group. The film slowly starts to reveal the secret society in the later half. It had started out as a group of women dreaming of a world free of men who bring suffering and heartache to women. Meanwhile, Jim looks incredibly hollow and inane as he is interviewed for a promotion for chasing the secret society. (Kim Ji-suk)
