One of India’s top storytellers, Mani Ratnam directs an epic drama starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai; it is a unique Bollywood movie about dance, song, and an enterpriser. Gurukant Desai is a man from a small village who dreams of becoming a great entrepreneur. Despite his father being against it, he never gives up his dream and continues to strive for success. He meets Sujata, gets married to her, and starts a new business with her and her brother. However, his success came with a price; his acts of corruption are revealed to the press and his business falls in danger. Ratnam’s narrative art of Gurukant’s ambitions and despair remains outstanding. Composer A. R.
