Program Note
Set in Philippine Science High School, a place for elite students in the 1980s, the film tells the story of 8 students. Director Auraeus Calo Solito incorporates the historical background of the People′s Power Revolution in 1986 to personal stories of passion and failure of the students. The students of Philippine Science High School, besides their passion for learning, react to the changes of the outer world; they begin to perceive politically and socially, and grow hope for the future. However, 20 years later, the world they dreamed of hasn′t been realized. Auraeus Calo Solito recreated the 1980s because he missed the passion of those days and for him, who graduated from Philippine Science High School, the film is a homecoming. 7 out of 8 characters are played by non-actors, some of them students of Philippine Science High School.
