This tragic musical is set in Bor, a contaminated mining town in southeastern Serbia where the most serious crimes arise in the country. Director Oleg Novkovic says, “I am fascinated with stories on fate, sin, and destiny, which can be called modern tragedies. These kinds of tragedies still happen around us. It’s not because God had forsaken us, but it is because of ourselves. [White White World] is a film that began with my urge to investigate passion, desires, misunderstandings, and pain”. The film is about a man who commits the vilest sin without knowing it, like King Oedipus. It is also a story about a mother who finds out that her lover is in love with her daughter.
