Program Note
Sandra′s daily life revolves exclusively around Georg, her aging father who suffers from degenerative diseases; Linn, her eight-year-old daughter; and Clement, an ex-lover whom she has renewed a relationship. Sandra keeps herself busy as caregiver and mediator for each of these people, with whom she shares deep relationships. One Fine Morning shows each facet of Sandra′s communications with her father, daughter, lover. Although the spaces in which they interact are loosely connected, the time she shares with them is always strictly separated. When Sandra doesn′t have time to exist fully as herself, she swallows her tears and continues on. Underscoring all of this is Schubert’s Sonata no. 27—an interesting choice, as Schuberts Sonata No. 21 is more widely known and used—which beautifully reflects musically the sadness that Sandra feels. However, as the title suggests, ‘this is not a tragedy.’ (LEE Yong Cheol)
