Program Note
Hlynur leads a protected life within the safe confines of his doting mother′s home in downtown Reykjavik. Though a thriving city awaits outside his door, the reclusive young man is content to live on social security and avoid the responsibilities of adulthood for as long as possible. But fate disrupts his early retirement. Hlynur′s agony begins after he has a passionate one-night stand with a beautiful woman called Lola. First, he discovers that Lola is his mother′s lesbian lover. Worse still, he finds out she may be pregnant. Hlynur′s carefully balanced universe deteriorates into out-and-out chaos as he tries to come to terms with his unique situation. Determined to resist adulthood at all cost, he soon finds out that life is busy making other plans for him.
