Community BIFF: Voting Now Opens for the 2026 Request Cinema Programs!
Community BIFF’s flagship audience participatory program, ‘Request Cinema’ is officially open for voting, available online from July 24 (Fri) to July 31 (Fri).

Over 200 Submissions Cut to 52 Entries, Have Your Say in This Year’s BIFF!
‘Request Cinema’ once again presents a diverse selection of creative programs that invite audiences to explore the festival beyond the screen. From performances, sing-along screenings, dress code competitions to secret mission challenges, these unique immersive programs are now open for public voting.
The lineup also features special sessions with guests including neuroscientists, psychologists, YouTube creators, radio hosts, CEOs and many more. Designed to place audiences at the heart of the festival, Community BIFF's signature program ‘Request Cinema’ allows festivalgoers to take on the role of programmers through film curation and event planning. This year's submissions reflect the evolving significance of the cinema in bridging cultures, highlighting a growing interest in more engaging ways to experience the festival and contemporary Korean cinema.
Following a 14-day open call for audience programmers last June, Request Cinema 2026 marked a record of 92 submissions featuring 209 films. Of these, 42 programs featuring 52 films that passed semi-final have been shortlisted for public voting. The final lineup will be determined based on 70% public voting and 30% evaluation by a selection committee.
Voting is now available online via Parti Townhall from July 24 (Fri) to July 31 (Fri). Each voter may vote for up to four entries. For the full list of programs, please visit the official Community BIFF website (https://community.biff.kr).
Community BIFF will take place in Nampo-dong from October 8 (Thu) to 11 (Sun). Throughout the 31st Busan International Film Festival, BIFF Everywhere will be held at the Busan Cinema Center and venues across Busan from October 6 (Tue) to October 15 (Thu).
