Program Note
The film opens with serial killer Edward and his growing taste for murder; after struggling to suppress his darkening desires he stumbles upon Vivian, a young woman who has given up on life and wants nothing more than to kill herself - the problem is, she just can′t seem to get it right. Although this seems like a match made in heaven, things quickly get complicated when Edward realizes he’s falling in love...A serial killer meets a woman who wants to kill herself then falls in love with her. Max Sobol’s first feature, You (Us) Me has a very interesting premise to begin with. But it doesn’t mean that the film itself will be very interesting as well (I have seen many first time directors failed to gain sympathy from audience even with interesting premises mainly because of lack of experience). With that being said, the director Max Sobol makes almost no mistakes and creates highly emotional and audacious drama for the audience to remember. (Dosin PAK)
