Program Note
If You Were Me 2 is an omnibus feature film under the theme of human rights. Seaside Flower by Park Kyung-hee describes the everyday life of Eun-hye, who is suffering from Down syndrome. The protagonist of Hey, Man-by Jang-jin is Woo-sik, who is an ordinary man and a stubborn sexist. This film criticizes the conservative and cliquish attitudes of Korean through Woo-sik′s derogatory remarks about foreign laborers, women, and children. A Boy with the Knapsack by Jung Ji-woo pictures the life of Hyun-ii and Jin-sun, who have escaped from North Korea. The protagonists of Someone Grateful by Ryoo Seung-wan are Youn Kyoung-sin who is arrested while participating in a demonstration and Kim Joo-Joong, the investigator torturing him. The possibility of communication between them is carefully explored. Jongno, Winter by Kim Dong-won follows the life of Korean-Chinese Kim Won-sub who died of cold in the street of Hyewhadong on December 9, 2003. While trying to collect his unpaid wages, he got lost. Although he called 119 and 112 for help, he died in isolation in the end. This film reveals the cruelty of Korean society.

Kim Dongwon
The President of ′Docupurun′, a represident documentary film group in Korea. He is responsible for such remarkable documentaries as [The Six Day Fight in Myong Dong Cathedral](1997) and [Sanggyedong Olympic](1998) which deals with the harsh realities in Korea Society. [Repatriation](2004) was invited to many domestic and foreign Films Festivals, and it won the Freedom of Expression Award at Sundance Film Festival.

Park Kyung-hee
Born in 1965, Park studied film in Korean Academy of Film Arts. Her debut was with 16mm short film [From Midnight Till Dawn], and it was invited to Pia Film Festival in Japan. She gained experience while she worked for Park Kwang Su in [They Are Also Like Us](1990). She was also a assistant director for Yim Soon Rye’s [Three Friends](1996). [A Smile] is her first feature.

Born in 1971, Jang Jin has worked in a variety of positions, including playwright and director. He debuted as a director with [The Happenings] in 1998, which was regarded for its surreal comedy and plot. He has secured a fan base for the so-called ‘Jang Jin style’ humor in all his films.

Seung Wan RYOO
Born in 1973, Ryu Seung-wan started his film career with Park Chan-wook. His first feature [Die Bad](2000) earned him acclaim for his directing talent. His Internet short [Tatsimawa Lee] attracted a young audience. [No Blood No Tears[(2002) depicts two women with poor lives with action scenes and [Arahan Jangpung Daejakjeon](2004) presents his unique imagination.

Born in 1968, Jung Ji-woo’s debut feature [Happy End](1999) was invited to International Critic’s Week at the Cannes Film Festival. He directed the melodrama [Wisdom Teeth](Working title) this year.
