Baltasar Kormakur makes the move into large-scale major studio filmmaking with this thriller. A con artist with a multi-million dollar life insurance policy dies under mysterious circumstances in a small town, and as usual an insurance investigator is appointed to look into the case. The dead man’s sister and her husband soon wind up in a face-off with the investigator as they fight over who will become the policy’s beneficiary.
