The letters of the title stand for the New York avenues that make up the city`s famous Alphabet City neighborhood ? home for drug addicts and angry young discontents. On these dilapidated streets, the lives of three young women converge, disperse, and occasionally intersect over the course of a single day. Colleen (Lucy Knight) is an out-of-work single mother avoiding the inevitable decision about her daughter`s fate. Her roommate Kacey (Erin Norris) is a sexually ambiguous punk who`s looking for her lost dog. And Kate (Sara Paul) is their new friend, a rocker-wannabe fleeing a failed relationship. Naderi has constructed a formalist ode to bohemian life in the pre-gentrification 1990s. His characters are less full-flesh human beings than motion vectors, constantly in search of a home that doesn`t exist.
