Program Note
The film delivers its feeling as if we can sense the cold of snow field and the heat of hot springs. Three soldiers - Essi, Yousef, and Dariush - run away from their military base and while wandering in the snow field, encounter a pregnant woman who fell behind a group of people smuggling themselves into the country. With the weather altering for the worse, they get lost and in that critical condition, reflect on memories of their families and the warmth of hot springs. Director Naghi Nemati devotes himself to delivering the emotion of three soldiers lost in the snow field, in despair and desperately missing their families. The contrast between the cold snowstorm and the steam of the hot springs makes the scene magnificent. Its dynamic plot and beautiful photography prove themselves to be great choices to convey such a subject. (Kim Ji-suk)
