Program Note
20 year-old Hee-cheol has been making his living doing deliveries for a restaurant ever since graduating from high school. His father, who comes home only once in a while, is drenched in alcohol and violence. Therefore only his grandmother takes care of him. One day, a college girl Yeon-joo asks him to play the main role in her short film. Yeon-joo and Hee-cheol kissing in the short film also becomes the climax of the film. The short film gives him hope and possibility of a love interest but reality holds him down. His grandmother, unable to resist poverty, goes away to start a new life, leaving only a note behind, while his father is being chased for his debt. The only thing that can cheer him up is the hope he felt working on the short film - not his family, nor a lover. The film projects his future as he embarks on a journey, riding his delivery motorcycle and praising his bitter youth.
