Mario MARTONE transposes in a contemporary Naples a famous play by Eduardo De Filippo featuring a little mafia chef. This one deals mainly with the local affairs, settling with his band the problems between the inhabitants of his commune. Everything could go for the best for this provincial godfather, if a young man did not come home to inform him that he was going to kill his own father, an honest baker. Mario MARTONE gives the mafia a vision without grandeur but makes us understand how it is integrated into the daily life of Neapolitans. Francesco Di LEVA powerfully interprets a cunning and violent Don Antonio BARRACANO, but who is also a tragic figure tortured by his childhood memories. (Stéphane Du MESNILDOT)
