Mattew Kang is a workaholic at an investment company in Berkely, CA. One day he gets hit by a car and suffers a concussion, eventually losing both his job and girlfriend at once. With a chronic headache, Matthew has no choice but to spend his time at an apartment furnished only with a computer and a phone. His new next-door neighbor, Monika, is a physicist who begins to observe Matthew′s daily routines. Persuaded by Monika, he visits new-age therapists, including a yoga instructor. In the process, the two fall in love and Matthew becomes a new man and heads home to his mother. Post Concussion is Daniel Yoon′s "do-it-yourself” film: he is writer, director, producer, cinematographer, editor and star. He decided to become a director when he was recovering from an auto accident that left him in the same situation as his character in the movie. Reading about Robert Rodriguez of El Mariachi fame reinforced his decision. With a minuscule budget comprised of insurance money and bank loans, Daniel completed this feature within a six-month′s shooting period. This is not a tragic film, but a witty and humorous little gem based on the director′s own personal experience. (Han Sang-Jun)
