A man is on a holiday in the woods with his wife and two kids, but they are surprised by the arrival of an uninvited guest. Before he understands what’s going on, he finds himself separated from his family. Now, he has to race with time if he wants to see his family alive. Frankly, I didn’t know much about Indonesian films especially if it is a genre film until I saw one of the most impressive action flicks, <Raid> last year. <Modus Anomail> is another impressive Indonesian genre film with subtle story and fine direction. It also has many other elements to be a ‘good’ horror film. Its way of unfolding story is so intriguing that it never gives any dull moment for the audiences, and it keeps them on the edge of their seats throughout the film. But the real icing on the cake is the shocking ending. If you like this kind of genre, this is definitely a film for you. I just can’t wait to find another entertaining Indonesian film for the next year’s Midnight Passion.
