Program Note

Nine directors, Israeli and Palestinian, embark on a journey to create short films inspired by water, which symbolizes the source of possibilities, the primal core of all things. Produced in creative freedom under the guidance of project initiator and artistic director Yael Perlov, with support from the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts, Gesher Multicultural Film Fund and the Culture Office of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, and with mixed crews of Palestinians and Israelis, the films reflect a personal, courageous point of view on reality. Nir SA’AR

30 years old, born in Giv’atayim, currently living in Tel Aviv. Graduated the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University.

Ahmad BARGOUTHI

35 years old, lives in Ramallah. Ahmad has a vast experience in production and editing, and he teaches film editing in “Alasarya” College, Ramallah. This is his first film.

Heli HARDY

28 years old, born in Haifa and currently living in Tel Aviv. Graduated the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University. Previously studied theatre and drama in Beit Zvi School of Preforming Arts.

Mohammad BAKRI

Born in Albene village of the Galilee in 1953. Graduated high school in Acre and studied Theater and Arab Literature in Tel Aviv University. Has been working as an actor and a director in theater and cinema for the past 35 years.

Mohammad FUAD

26 years old, lives in Bethlehem. He is a graduate Film Studies of Dar al-Kalima Art College in Bethlehem

Pini TAVGER

33 years old, born in Jerusalem to Russian immigrants and raised in Haifa. Pini Graduated the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University as well as the prestigious Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Tel Aviv.

Tal HARING

26 years old, born in Ramat Hasharon and currently living in Tel Aviv. A student in the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University.

Yoav SHAVIT

30 years old, born and living in Tel Aviv. Graduated the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University. Producer of the project “Coffee – Between Reality and Imagination” (2010).

Maya SARFATY

29 years old, born in Natanya, currently living in Tel Aviv. Graduated the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Tel-Aviv.

Yona ROZENKIER

Yona Rozenkier, 31 years old, born and raised in Kibbutz Yehiam and in Paris, currently living in Tel Aviv. Graduated the Film and Television department of Tel Aviv University.
