Program Note
An omnibus film directed by three directors to commemorate the 7th anniversary of Thai production house GTH. The film’s universal theme is the premise that a person’s life goes through a major transition every seven years. The vignettes therefore include <14>, <21/28> and <42.195>, all love stories at various ages. Featuring rising stars (2PM’s Nichkhun and Suquan Bulakul) as well as beloved veteran actors (Cris Horwang, Sunny Suwanmethanont and Jirayu La-ongmanee), the film is hardly a studio vanity project; each segment distinguishes itself for its filmmaking acumen. <14> is an accurate picture of how the Facebook generation relates, where a simple click of “like” or “dislike” can mean a world of difference on one’s social landscape. The delightful romantic comedy <21/28> is about a couple that meets on a film set, falls in love, becomes arch enemies and finally reconciles. And finally <42.195> is about a woman who meets a much younger man, and through this relationship is able to find healing and closure from a painful past. (PARK Jinhee)
Director
Director
Paween PURIJITPANYA
Paween Purijitpanya scored a big break with the slick horror Body, in which a persistent spirit haunts the corridors of a med school and invokes a strange psychological aftershock. Paween’s background in music video perfects his visual smoothness, and he shows his talent in winding up screen tension with such spooky efficiency. His 2nd and 3rd project with GTH are an episode in the thriller ensemble <4bia> and <Phobia 2>. <4bia> and <Phobia 2> have become the most famous franchise horror film of Thailand.
Director
Adisorn TRESIRIKASEM
After graduated in 1996, Adisorn was working as a Set Manager for the movie <Angulimala>. He brought his new film project <My Girl>, the treatment to propose to Mr. Jira Maligool, the producer of Hub Ho Hin Film. Jira loves it and got an idea for Adisorn to invite other 5 good friends who had been studying with him to join the team together to direct <My Girl>. His films include <Lucky Loser>(2006), <Bangkok Traffic Love Story>(2009).
Director
Jira MALIGOOL
Born in 1961, Jira Marigool graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a degree in Communication Arts, majoring in film and photography. He started working as an award-winning music video director before becoming co-founder and creative force behind one of Thailand’s leading commercial production houses. His directorial debut, <Mekhong Full Moon Party>(2002) received an astounding 21 awards, including the coveted Supannahongsa Award for Best Director in 2003. He also produced <My Girl>, the 2003 box office smash in Thailand.
