Restored with the computer graphic technology, <Red Scarf> describes the early history of Korean air force. The Stunning Cinematography was awarded in the 1965 Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards. Shin Young-kyun was awarded with the best actor and Shin Sang-ok the Best director at the Asian Film Festival. The film unfolds the story of meaningful ‘Red Scarf’ which emblemizes the air force fighter pilots, along with love of his family and wish for safe return. It presents with the ideal combination of the compacted storyline for difficult flight training, comradeship and love and spectacular scenes with azure sky as the background. Also, it may be a chance to remind of the late Yoon In-ja whose performance made the film shine to be honored with the best supporting actress award. (CHO Young-jung)

Sang-ok SHIN
He began his film career as an art director of <Viva Freedom!> (1945). He made his debut with <The Evil Night> (1952) and married Choi Eun-hee. With the success of <Sung Chun-Hyang> (1961), Shin Film, established in 1960, grew into the biggest film company in Korea. Kidnapped to North Korea in 1978, he escaped to the US in 1986.
