Program Note
Frustrated by life in a small lcelandic town dominated by a fish factory, Svavva makes a decision to move to Reykjavik. Svavva′s boyfriend Aggi and her subdued sister Hildur are not convinced of the wisdom of such a move. Accordingly they attempt to seduce the restless girl into staying, but Svavva flees the constricting town anyway. Shortly, Hildur and Aggi decide to hit the ice-strewn roads and follow Svavva to Reykjavik. While this unlikely alliance is keen to reclaim Svavva, mechanical failure soon forces the pair to stop in the next village until their car can be repaired. It′s just another small town, but a change in scenery is as good as a holiday and for a while Hildur and Aggi have fun in their new environment. But bad news turns worse when they discover the repairs will take longer than expected and will cost more than they can afford. Being stranded in another small town, leads to another nowhere job in yet another fish factory. But just when it looks like they are going nowhere, an unexpected sexual awakening sends Hildur′s journey in another direction entirely.
