Rocky is the grandson of Dhanlakshmi, the matriarch of the Randhawa family, owners of a successful candy company. He learns that his amnesiac grandfather, Kanwal, misses a woman named Jamini. TV anchor Rani, the daughter of English professor Anjali and Kathak dancer Chandon, together set out to find her grandmother Jamini’s long hidden love. Rocky and Rani work together to reunite Kanwal and Jamini but eventually fall for each other. To overcome the objection of their polar opposite families, Rocky and Rani decide to switch houses. Rocky and Rani’s Love Story predominantly relies on the charm of its two lead actors, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Despite the film’s long running time, the dazzling dance and song performed by Bollywood’s top stars keep it engaging throughout. Directed by Karan Johar, known to Korean audiences for My Name is Khan (2010), starring Shah Rukh Khan, this film showcases the prowess of Bollywood’s successes. (PARK Sun Young)
