A Conversation with Gregory Peck offers an engaging balance between Peck′s public persona and his private life, using excerpts from a number of Peck′s recent one-man shows and well-known clips from many of his great movies. At each stop fans ask new questions. Some tell how Peck′s film characters inspired their careers. Some have named their children after him. Peck is filmed being presented with the National Medal for the Arts from President Clinton, an indication that ordinary citizens aren′t the only ones who appreciate Peck′s contributions to American culture. On the personal side of things, A Conversation with Gregory Peck offers snapshots from the actor′s youth, as well as home movie footage. There are some serious moments in the film, including an emotional scene where Peck discusses the tragic loss of his son, Jonathan, and the touching image of Peck speaking about his wife, Veronique, as his soulmate, while lovingly tending to orchids in a hot house.
