The official poster of the 15th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) has been unveiled. PIFF art director, Choi Sun-dae, designed the poster with a Lee Young-ae original ‘In the Story’. Lee Young-ae is a Hanbok designer and an adjunct professor in the Department of Design, at Dongseo University. It is the first time to select a Hanbok designer’s work as the official PIFF poster. The PIFF organizing committee explained that the ‘In the Story’ features traditional patterns with embroidered jean and cotton fabrics using quilt and embroidery techniques. The variety of color and sense in Lee’s work matches well the splendor of the festival and the direction of PIFF, which showcases both film traditions and the future direction of film.
