Program Note
This is Choi Yang-Il first film, whose All Under the Moon(93) put him in the ranks of New Japanese Cinema. Rock figure Uchida Yuya writes and stars in this true story. A police office lives alone on the 10th floor. Unable to repay debts, he is hounded by collectors. After harassing a woman pickpocket and a fellow officer, he robs a post office. The camera tightly follows his journey into hell. The power of the expressionless cop, the appearance of the recently deceased Korean-Japanese actor, Cho Bang-Ho, and the theme song, "It′s for nobody" by Korean Japanese actor/singer(Haku Ryu) leave a strong impression. (Yang Shion)
