Program Note
Yun is a sweet and spirited high school girl living in Osaka. Her life changes when she meets a young man who fall in love with her unaware of her Korean ethnicity. Despite the hostility they face from a Japanese society that discriminates against its Korean minority, he refuses to give her up. By facing the problem together, they also begin to solve them. Along the way, Yun becomes more committed to her Korean identity. A third generation Korean, Yun′s grandmother is direct connection to her Korean roots. A stirring dance sequence in which Yun performs a traditional Korean dance marks Yun′s passage into a more complete identity.

Kim Woo-Sun
Born in Osaka in 1952, he graduated from Waseda University, the play course of the department of literature. While at university, he was interested in films, and decided to be a filmmaker. He started his career as a freelance assistant director and YUN′S TOWN was his first feature film as an director.
