Tae-han runs a small stamp shop in a small town. One day finding out that his wife is having an affair, he decides to witness his wife`s infidelity before his eyes. Knowing that his wife`s lover, Joong-sik, is taxi driver, he goes to Seoul, intentionally gets Joong-sik`s cab and asks for a long-distance drive. They encounter various situations; sometimes fighting, sometimes sharing excitements. Unlike what the title implies, this film is rather about the isolation of one man than about the love affair. When the man, who is physically weak with his low social status living in a small seaside town, finds out about his wife`s infidelity and her wanting to leave his simple but stable everyday life, he realizes that he is nothing. He is full of vengeance only to find that his target is also weak and poor. Fascinating are the warm and witty descriptions about the life of the lower classes, the delicate combination of irony and pathos, and the exquisite visual images. (Huh Moon-yung)
