Kang Chul-joong is a reckless, not-too-intelligent cop whose guilt-free tendency for corruption never stopped him from dealing in drugs. Chilling serial murders rack the city and Chul-joong slowly finds himself changing as he follows the case, sensing that the killer might be the evil stockbroker who killed his parents. Eventually Chul-joong decides to take justice into his own hands, but not without difficulty. A corrupt prosecutor gets in his way. The film was directed by Korea’s leading commercial hit master of the nineties, Kang Woo-suk, who skillfully combines the genre conventions of comic action he is well known for, as well as crime thriller tension and social satire. Seol Kyung-goo gives a wonderful performance as the ruthless and simple-minded, yet warm-hearted Kang Chul-joong. The scene where he charges at hoodlums with a chainsaw is memorable.
