Program Note
A woman turns the rooftop of a worn down Love Hotel into a park and opens it up to the public. She gives a glimmer of hope to the lonely hearts of the women from various age groups whom she encounters there. 13-year-old Mika, who has no place to go after seeing her father with a new family; Tsuki, a housewife whose relationship with her husband has turned cold; and Marika, who always comes to the Love Hotel with a different man. These three women each receive silent encouragement from Tsuyako who, together with, as well as from the women, receives a life affirming happiness. In an obscure corner of the city, the isolated women regain the strength to face life by affirming themselves.
