Program Note
Gwang-tae is constantly being threatened by men of Myung-su to whom he owes money. He finally asks his friend Gil-do to find a way to sell his organs to pay off 80 million won in debt. Gil-do with his gambling problem, deceives him and snatches the money for himself. The Japanese Yakuza sends Sato to bring organs for their boss’ operation and Sato decides to bring Gwang-tae to Japan himself. Myung-su and his men stand in their way asking for money. Gwang-tae looks for Gil-do to resolve the situation, and Sato determines to help him. The film is a typical flick for men with a fight with gangs and betrayal of a friend. Director LEE Seong Han blends drama and action properly following the main plot. Splendid photography by KIM Young-chul D.P. and energy of young new actors stand out in the film. (LEE Sang-yong)
