Program Note
While once he dreamt of singing in a band, now Aga lives as a post man. Two events visit his boring life: an opportunity to perform at a concert of a Japanese superstar and a love letter from Japan with an unknown address. Juxtaposing the Seven Samurai-like band member gathering and the contents of a sixty-year-old love letter, Cape No.7 trace down the lost hope, dreams and love. With director Te-Sheng Wei’s Altman-like characterization and episodic storytelling, the film presents multi-layered significance. Vibrant colors spread upon the past and the present, and the sweet melodies and lyrics on and off the stage will never be disappointing. (LEE Seung Min)
