Program Note
There is a father and a son. Believing he lost his wife and parents because of his political activities, the father decides to seclude his son from the mundane world. But the son is eager to break out into the world. Their stubbornness and desire flow and after the son’s departure and return, the film asks - ‘What kind of life do you want to live?’ Reminding us of return of the prodigal son from the Bible, TheYurt shows the psychology of the characters deliberately, especially the son′s closed and anxious mind, through telescopic imagery and electronic guitar music. Mythological allegories like a lost shoe and a running stream also harmonize with the narrative. (LEE Seung Min)
