Program Note
A rock band singer Hyun-seok meets with a terrible accident one day. A problem with his hearing develops and hinders his studio recordings. In a deep despair, Hyun-seok retreats to a lodging house in Hokkaido, Japan. The hostess of the house attracts him, but every time he looks at her, he remembers a divorced woman he met in Seoul. Based on an idea from Korean singer Kim C, Oishii Man reconstructs Hyun-seok’s fragmentary memories centering the quiet, snowy place in Hokkaido. Using Korean and Japanese actors and settings from both countries, the film expresses the will to understand each other. (LEE Sang-yong)
