Xiao Ai is a Taiwanese high school girl who lives a monotonous life without any ambition. After meeting a Japanese transfer student named Miao Miao, however, things change. After Miao helps Ai bake a cake, the bond between the two girls grow. One day, she catches the sight of a melancholylooking record shop owner, who fascinates Miao. Though she feels jealous of her best friend’s romance, Ai helps Miao approach him. But he can’t keep his mind open because of his painful past, and the tension between the three grows. Hsiao-Tse Cheng presents the bright bloom and the sweet sorrow of friendship and love so deliberately that it almost sounds like an everlasting song for the youth. (Kim Byeongcheol)
