Program Note
What kind of lovelife do women in their 40s have? Shin-hye is a product director at a television broadcaster, Mi-yeon is a housewife who is actively pursuing sexual content, and Hae-yeong is a single mom who runs a bakery. Shin-hye has been in a relationship with her boss, but one day learns that he is planning to marry a young girl he has also been having an affair with. Upset, Shin-hye gets drunk and sleeps with a young colleague for revenge. Mi-yeon finds her husband incapable of sexually satisfying her, while the husband thinks she demands too much and tries to escape by going fishing. Hae-yeong finds it difficult to live with her boyfriend because of her daughter. She just wants her daughter to quickly get married and move out. Each of these three women have their own romantic challenges. Having showed his talent for this kind of romantic comedy in Singles(2003), director Kwon Chil-in raises the age level from 30s to 40s in Venus Talk, and three famous actresses - Jo Min-soo, Moon So-ri, and Uhm Jung-hwa - do not hesitate to show off their charm.
