Program Note
Lee Jung-rim, left her husband in North Korea and works very hard to adapt to South Korean society. She has to endure cold eyes and is sexually harassed by an ex-policeman. Her status, as a defector and a female, makes her even more isolated from society. But, isolated people are everywhere. Lee begins volunteer work at a church she attends and comes to feel sympathy through meeting other isolated people. After [Mozart Town] and [Animal Town], director Jeon Kyu-hwan made another town series, [Dance Town] and now the entire series can be considered as a portrait for isolated people. Through the look of human beings in a severe situation, this film discloses the horror and violent nature of the world. (LEE Sang-yong)
