Program Note
Soonyeong and Jaegu are a couple running a garage on the country′s border. Their business is poor due to trucks traveling to and from nearby resort construction sites; cars from other regions hardly come by. Then one day, after some metal is dropped by the trucks, cars with flat tires start turning up at the garage. Jaegu comes up with the brilliant idea to spray metal pieces on the road, and force the punctured cars to flock to the garage. Soonyeong stops him at first, but over time she is more active than her husband. The money-blinded couple′s dangerous plan faces a new challenge when the chairman of the resort gets a flat tire. This movie shows fresh ideas. The small act of making money is increasingly irrevocable. And the characters of Jaegu and Soonyeong, played by Park Yong-woo and Cho Eun-ji, become clearer in the process. Soonyeong’s father, who has always been unhappy with his son-in-law, changes his attitude with Jaegu’s success, who then faces another problem instead of money and reputation. (Nam Dong-chul)
