This short film is made up of four chapters: lotus/purity, pig/ignorance, bird/desire, and snake/anger. Each chapter also represents the moments when Pema is born, grows up, becomes a mother, and a grandmother. And the real hero of this film is the fireplace, silently watching Pema’s life.

Jamyang Jamtsho WANGCHUK
Jamyang Jamtsho Wangchuk is an upcoming director and actor from Bhutan who gained attention in his home country with Gyalsey: Legacy of a Prince (2011), the first film that he wrote, directed and acted in. He is currently preparing his second feature film project White Gold, which was chosen by 2018 Open Doors Hub at Locarno Film Festival.
