Program Note
Jogi was a Bhaona dancer, which is a colorful and traditional dance in Northern India. To make a living, he became a boatman crossing the river. As he is obsessed with violent suicidal impulse, he overthrows the boat carrying passengers. This incident kills everyone, but he miraculously survives alone. Feeling in guilt, he enters the Himalayan resort and becomes a caretaker. One day, four family members arrive as guests, and he feels something unusual in their strange behaviors. In addition, a mysterious and seductive young woman comes across. Being confused, he obsessively fears that the people he killed returned to seek revenge on him.
This psychological thriller depicting guilt, fear and reincarnation is directed by Vijay Jayapal whose previous film Revelations was invited to Busan in 2016. The film is supported by Post-Production Fund of Asian Cinema Fund in 2019. (PARK Sungho)
