Krabi Island is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Southern Thailand, where the prehistoric time, closer past and the present collide. Krabi, 2562 captures this beautiful island in classy Super 16mm film co-directed by Ben RIVERS who has been experimenting boundaries between fiction and documentary and Anocha SUWICHAKORNPONG who has been depicting transcendence in time and space. A filmmaker explores every corner of the island with the help of a tour guide to scout locations. An old man living here talks about his past when he used to be a boxer. An actor visiting the island is changed after mysteriously encountering with a Neanderthal. All of these mystical experiences are poetic expressions of the interaction between space and time, and offer something unusual that most foreign tourists visiting Krabi would overlook.
