Program Note
A thirty-something female announcer for a provincial T.V. station and a synchronous recording engineer in his late twenties, meet on the job and fall in love. However, to paraphrase a poet′s words, there is no happy love, and they soon encounter hardships. Sound is a major theme of the film - the director relates their occupations and psychological states through subtle sounds, skillfully making use of an often-neglected aspect of film. The film deals with the relationship between the two people, but also with issues of communication and circular cycles of generations, in some ways representative of the changes of the seasons. The film was jointly produced between Korea, Japan, and Hong-Kong. (Han Sang-Jun)
