Barbora is a young painter who is gaining attention in Norway. One day, she is shocked to find her paintings stolen. The real story begins as the thief gets caught by the police and claims that he does not remember how he stole them and where he put all her paintings. As Barbora and the thief start to have a conversation, she uncovers his sad past and true character. What new turn of events can they create by meeting each other? Benjamin REE
Benjamin Ree is a Norwegian documentary filmmaker. At the beginning of his career, he worked for BBC and Reuters. He directed short documentaries such as Dreaming of the Golden Eagle (2012) and When Ailin Kissed Lars (2014). Ree’s first feature documentary is Magnus (2016), which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2016, and was sold to 64 countries. The film is about the world’s best chess player. His second feature is The Painter and the Thief, which won a Special Jury Award for Creative Storytelling at the World Documentary Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
