When your romantic relationship hits that plateau, and you realize there is no such thing as “happily ever after”, where do you go? Trouble Will Find Us follows a couple – Tess, an aspiring lawyer, and Henry, whom she met at his art exhibition, over the course of two years. Their journey is documented in a series of episodes, and every intimate episode of trembling joy, budding romance, inevitable quarrels, and painful exhaustion is captured by the camera with long, often persistent tableau shots. The film makes no attempt to hide the good, bad and ugliness of a relationship; the dynamics of the film are made up of these brief, incidental moments building up to emotional outbursts.
