Program Note
Jung-hye who works in the post office is a detached strange woman. But such strangeness is too subtle for others to take notice. A very shy novelist starts visiting the post office on a regular basis and Jung-hye′s blank face seems to brighten up slowly. Yet she doesn′t know how to express herself. At the end of the film, viewers find out why Jung-hye ran away on her honeymoon and why she can′t open up to anyone. The handheld-shot film, unlike the surface, is not about telling the world that a heart wonded at youth can have a destructive outcome in life. Rather, it is a sad portrait of those people who sustain difficult times by suppressing their pains. The camera follows their quiet and monotonous life. Even a small gesture or an expression easily reveals what′s on their minds.
