The mystery thriller’s action centers on the formerly successful painter David (played by internationally famous Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen) who has lost control over his life after being responsible for the death of his seven-year-old daughter Leonie through a fatal decision. After he loses his daughter because of his negligence, he is overpowered by guilt and driven to the point where he doesn’t have any reason to live. One day, he discovers a door which will give him the opportunity to start all over again. However, what initially appears to be a wonderful chance for a new beginning soon turns out to be a veritable horror scenario, since not everything in the past is quite as it seems.
