Program Note
In the claustrophobic confines of a jail cell, an inmate is discovered hanged. His three cellmates attempt to save him, but are too late. The three cellmates are interviewed separately in order to determine the progression of events that led to the fourth inmate hanging himself. It becomes apparent that their fictionalized accounts of the events that led to his death are clouded in lies and misdirection. In the back-and-forth between the interrogations of the cellmates, the horrific truth about what actually transpired slowly emerges from their conflicting testimony. When the truth about what really transpired is revealed, it opens a window into the darkest recesses of the psyche and exposes the duplicitous side of human nature. Inspired by a true story.
