Program Note
Animals in the zoo do not need a way to survive because the cage is in charge of protection and oppression at the same time. The story dealing with addiction is about five people running into danger due to their methods of survival. Drugs are dealt everywhere, and except for the narcotics squad, no adults appear who can help the situation. The limitations of the addicted society caused by poverty and negligence infiltrate people’s lives. They try to find their way, but it causes another addiction by being exposed to danger without a safety-net. A younger brother who stole his brother’s cell phone is involved in drug dealing to pay his own debts. However, to endure the hard circumstances, he takes the drug, becoming addicted to it. At the end, the brothers go to a beach, which looks like the dead end of the world instead of an opening space to another one. What is the next step to escape from the ill city causing addiction? The unachieved dreams are completed as a mural, showing off its figure. (CHAI Heesuk)
