Iranian director Majid Majidi, famous for Children of Heaven, is indulged in India. After finishing a movie set in Mumbai, India, he announced plans to make his second movie set in India, and his new fascination with it now demands our attention. Beyond the Clouds follows the catastrophic end of Amir and his sister Tara. Amir sells drugs on the street in Mumbai. To save Amir from the trouble he gets into, Tara goes to jail in his place, a painful time. To save Tara, Amir tries all possible means, only to fail, and watch Tara become more miserable. However, the light of salvation shines upon them. The brother and sister depend on each other and realize the love and the importance of family more acutely. At the early stage, this project drew a great deal of attention for rumors that superstar Deepika Padukone would be cast. The world-famous composer A.R. Rahman takes charge of music.
